Foal Delivery Program

Many of you are anxiously awaiting the arrival of your new foals in the spring of 2012!

"This is a great time to remind everyone to make sure your pregnant mares are on schedule with their vaccination for equine herpesvirus (EHV-1). It is important to understand that as many as 80% of horses are latently infected with EHV-1 and can shed virus when stressed as can occur with changing environments such as moving to a foaling facility. Vaccination reduces the likelihood of shedding virus and thus helps prevent viral abortion in a group of pregnant mares." Dr. Fairfield Bain, Chief of Medicine

See the attached for details on our Healthy Delivery and Foal Kick Start Programs. Please note that upon arrival, docoumentaion is required for the vaccintions Dr. Bain mentions above.

  1. I am very glad that I find your regular post here. Which seems to be very important and it made good time pass for me. I will always give a nice thrust look in to you from my bookmark feed. I don’t actually comment and don’t like to spend time in typing the comment. But here I have to do this because this one deserves a good like.
