"This is a great time to remind everyone to make sure your pregnant mares are on schedule with their vaccination for equine herpesvirus (EHV-1). It is important to understand that as many as 80% of horses are latently infected with EHV-1 and can shed virus when stressed as can occur with changing environments such as moving to a foaling facility.
